This year Sheffield hosted the 26th MOBO Awards, has been named Time Out's UK Foodie Capital, awarded the UK's first Investment Zone and has been selected as the government's choice for the UK's first Civil Service Policy Hub - we start the year as we mean to go on.

Cllr Tom Hunt, Leader and Kate Josephs CB, Chief Executive Officer of Sheffield City Council will be joined by a panel of guests including Homes England, and Legal & General with Louisa Harrison-Walker, Chief Executive Officer from Sheffield Chamber of Commerce as Chair.

The UK Government's Levelling Up agenda has recognised that future housing and regeneration delivery will require new ways of working and new long-term partnerships and approaches to create and capture value.

During UKREiiF this May, Sheffield and South Yorkshire will explore the Sheffield Together Partnership and delivery of homes in the city, whilst tackling sustainability on their path to net zero and neighbourhoods place based approach. They will address the challenges many local authorities have in providing the right homes in the right places.

At this year’s UKREiiF, Barnsley will look to showcase what makes us stand out. As double winners of Council of The Year in 2023, we want to focus on our most relevant assets.

Challenging the ‘hospital first’ culture, to bolster both economic benefits as well as positive impacts on the NHS. The Health on the High Street programme aims to repurpose areas of the Alhambra Centre, an underused building in the town centre to create a Health and Wellbeing hub in an accessible location at the heart of the town centre.

Barnsley is committed to driving innovation and economic growth. Our town centre is transformed, and we’re at the heart of growing the regional tech and innovation ecosystem via our programmes and facilities. We believe the Seam Digital Campus has the potential to become a hub for research, development, and collaboration between businesses, academia, and government.
