It is our opportunity to accelerate our plans to scale the Innovation District; it is your opportunity to gain a first-mover advantage at the start of our next growth episode.
Our approach to the Investment Zone is mission-driven. Our advanced manufacturing know-how will be deployed to solve society’s biggest challenges – producing clean, green heat, power and flight; tackling ill-health; and harnessing technology to create more, good jobs and fulfilling careers in South Yorkshire. We have assets that give us a comparative advantage on each challenge, alongside a skills and research system to provide the people, a convenient geography to provide the space, and a long-term vision to provide the commitment your business needs.

WHAT ELSE IS IN THIS SECTION?
What is an Investment Zone?
- Investment Zones were first announced in September 2022, however, the blueprints for these zones have changed since then. Investment Zones are intended to form ‘knowledge-intensive growth clusters’ to encourage partner cooperation with local research institutions such as universities.
- Each Investment Zone will be provided with £80m worth of support over a five-year period which can be used flexibly between spending and tax incentives.
