Published 11 March 2024 at 2:13pm
A 3.9ha development site in Barnsley, west of Woolley Colliery Lane, is proposed for residential use. Historically part of Woolley Colliery Mine, evidence of its past includes concrete bases amidst vegetation.
Divided into 2 parcels, the 2.8ha north side neighbours woodland and residences, while the 1.1ha south side abuts Woolley Colliery Miners Welfare Ground.
The outline application suggests up to 115 dwellings, 75 in the north and 40 in the south, with proposed access points via Woolley Colliery Road and new footpaths.
